I am fortunate to work with my dad and call myself a second-generation financial advisor. As a kid, I had many different career aspirations because my dad would tell me about the various career paths of his successful clients. Often times my career aspirations would shift with each different career path that my dad described. As time went on, I pursued a degree in Accounting and went on to get my Master’s degree in Accounting. My goal is to know and understand our clients’ goals and help them to achieve those goals. I do this by using my CPA background and attention to detail.
Many of my clients are physicians, lawyers, business owners, and federal employees. For physicians, lawyers, and other professionals, I gain an understanding of their employer provided benefits to ensure they understand their benefits and take full advantage of them. I work with companies’ HR departments to make sure the employees fully understand the benefits that are being provided for them. For business owners, I do a comprehensive review of their business and family finances seeking to uncover new opportunities to reduce taxes. It is always exciting to show a business owner how to save tens of thousands of dollars in taxes! I help federal employees understand and maximize their federal benefits.
Prior to working as a financial advisor, I worked as an Audit Senior at Deloitte for four years. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Accounting in 2009 and my Masters of Science in Accounting in 2011 from the University of Kentucky. I am also a Certified Public Accountant.
I have three young kids (ages 1, 2, & 3 – CRAZY, RIGHT?!), so between work and taking care of the kids, I have very little free time. In my limited spare time, I am usually drinking bourbon or cheering on my UK Wildcats. I am a die-hard UK basketball fan and crossed off one item from my bucket list when I attended the 2012 National Championship in New Orleans.
